A early morning accident involving an overturned truck closed a section of Battletown Road Tuesday (9/26).
According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 6 am in the 5100 block of Battletown Road near Milan Road, when a truck overturned blocking the roadway. The driver treated at the scene for minor injuries by Meade County EMS but refused to taken to the hospital. The truck was loaded with ammonia nitrate and did not have any leaks. Crews said the load was stable. Crews worked the scene several hours off load the truck’s load and safely transfer it another vehicle.
The roadway reopened during the mid afternoon. No other details were provided about the wreck as it remains under investigation by the Meade County Sheriff’s Department.
