An agreement has been struck between the state and Brandenburg Telephone to install some 40 miles of fiber optic cable in Breckinridge and Meade Counties as part of the “Kentucky Wired” project.
The goal is to install some thirty-four hundred miles of line across the state to make high-speed internet available in all counties of the state. Similar agreements with Cincinnati Bell Telephone, Eastern Kentucky Network, and Bluegrass Network have already saved the project over $10 million.
Installation is expected to be completed by next April.
