
The Grayson County runaway teen accused of crimes in multiple states was sentenced on several charges Tuesday (11/7).
Dalton Hayes was sentenced to five years on each count after pleading guilty to two counts of theft by unlawful taking of an automobile. He was also sentenced to one year on each of the following counts: custodial inference, theft by unlawful taking of a firearm, a misdemeanor charge of theft by unlawful taking, burglary 3rd degree, and criminal mischief. The sentences will be served consecutively.
He was found not guilty of second degree rape in May of this year.
Hayes was arrested in January of 2015 after two weeks on the run with a minor. He was 18 at the time.
