Elizabethtown Police are seeking public help after a woman had her purse stolen last month while visiting the grave of her husband at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens on Leitchfield Road.
Around noon on October 22, the woman’s purse was stolen from her vehicle. A person later was captured by bank surveillance video at three different locations in Elizabethtown using the woman’s ATM card. The suspect was driving a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata with a stolen Kentucky license plate. Surveillance video showed he partially covered his face with a red T-shirt while he made fraudulent ATM transactions.
Police say the purse contained the PIN number to the card allowing him easy access to the account. Police advise against having that password number paired in proximity to a bank card.
Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Elizabethtown Police Department at 270-765-4125 or any other law-enforcement agency.
