Kentucky State Transportation officials announced Monday (11/20) the temproray closure of Kentucky 228 known as Battletown Road will be closed beginning Monday, November 27.
Work crews will close the roadway in order to reconstruct a portion of the roadway in Gas Well Holler. The closure will occur between a point two and half miles South of KY 1844 (Liberty Road) and a point one and half miles North of KY 2731 (New Highland Church Road).
Construction will include removing existing asphalt and stone, adjusting grade of the roadway and replacing asphalt and stone. Guardrail will be installed on both sides of the road before the project is marked complete. A detour will be signed via State Roads 2731, 144 and 1844. Message boards are also up to give motorists advance notice.
The roadway is expected to reopen within two weeks.
