A Fordsville man was arrested Monday for DUI after he ran struck another vehicle head-on.
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department responded to a head-on collision on Hwy 54, in the Deanfield community.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that was struck reported that 66 year-old Kenneth R. Rodgers, of Fordsville, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane. The unnamed female driver said she attempted to leave the roadway to avoid the collision, but Rodgers struck her vehicle even though it was nearly completely off the road.
After a failed field sobriety test, Rodgers was found to be in possession of unspecified narcotics, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.
Rodgers was arrested and charged with DUI (with aggravating circumstances); three counts of wanton endangerment; having a prescription controlled substance not in its proper container; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center but has since bonded out of custody.
