Meade County law enforcement members of the Fraternal Order of Police; Otter Creek Lodge #67 with associate membership, had their annual Shop With A Cop on Saturday (12/9).
The annual event began around 8 am, as the children and officers shopped for Christmas items. The children went between each stop by police escort with Fire, EMS and Meade County Detention Center. The children will be provided with a free donut. The festive parade ended with a lunch with Santa at the Moose Lodge in Brandenburg. For the second year, Kentucky Wheels provided a bicycle for each child in the program.
The area organizations gave a Christmas to about 36 children from the Meade County area thanks to the community sponsors Shopko, Cox’s Variety Store, Yum Yum Bakery and Papa Johns Pizza and the generous monetary donations from the community.
