
Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Hardinsburg man.
According to authorities the wreck happened around 5 pm CST Thursday (12/14) in Daviess County on US 60 near the Intersection with KY 334 & 2830.
A 2005 Chevrolet pickup driven by 38 year-old Donald Gibson of Hardinsburg, was traveling west on US 60 and for an unknown reason crossed the center line into the path of a 2003 Kenworth tractor trailer driven by 50 year-old Eric Norton of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Both vehicles caught on fire upon impact and were mostly burned. Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County Coroner. Norton was taken to Owensboro Health by EMS and was listed in critical condition.
US 60 was closed about four hours as crews investigated and cleaned up the scene. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
