An Eastview mother and son each are being held in the Hardin County Detention Center after a shooting altercation late Wednesday (2/28) afternoon.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were called to a residence on Tabb Hollow Road after reports of shots fired. Donna Cundiff, 54, admitted to police that she got a gun from her home and gave it to her son, 27 year-old Justin Peters, who was accidentally shot. Peters told police that Cundiff intentionally pointed the gun at him and he was shot in the hand as he attempted to swipe the gun from his direction. Peters did not seek medical treatment.
Investigators found a shotgun in a downstairs bedroom closet and a shell casing in a kitchen trash can that Cundiff told authorities she put there.
Cundiff is charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence. Peters is charged with tampering with physical evidence and first-degree wanton endangerment. Both are scheduled to appear in Hardin District Court on March 9.
