An Elizabethtown man was indicted last week by a Hardin County grand jury on three felony charges stemming from a March incident involving two Elizabethtown Police Department officers.
Kevin Carter, 23, is charged with two counts of third-degree assault and one count of disarming a peace officer, Class D felonies punishable by one to five years in prison on each count.
Carter was arrested March 31 after police arrived at an apartment complex on Barnwood Lane to a report of a man trying to climb into an apartment window.
The indictment also included charges of resisting arrest and second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot. According to police, Carter punched one officer in the face with a fist and attempted to kick the other in the face.
He is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond.
