The Brandenburg City Council worked through a short business session Monday (7/9) night.
Public Work Director T.J. Hughes reported to city leaders that most of the work has been completed for the city’s new RV Park along the river front and the newly constructed water tower on Lawrence Street is filled and awaiting the final connection valves at the the Old State Road water tower to be complete. Once the final connections are made the tower will be in use on the city water system. City leaders will then work toward maintenance of the Old State Road tower.
Hughes also reported to the council that the basketball goals have been installed in Nickel Park and other work is continuing on that project. The council approved a list of surplus property of the city police department. The action allows those listed items to be sol at auction at a later date.
The council awarded the July Yard of The Month award to Sam and Linda Melloy for the care of their yard along Anne Court. The next regular meeting of the Brandenburg City Council is scheduled on Monday, August 13 at 7 pm.
