A Hardin County Schools administrator is scheduled to appear in court to be arraigned on a misdemeanor charge.
Laticia Mueller, 41 of Elizabethtown, was issued a criminal summons relating to a September 2017 incident. A criminal complaint was made by James Martin, who alleges Mueller provided alcoholic beverages to underage high school students while hosting a birthday party September 2, 2017.
Mueller is facing one count of third-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison, if convicted, a fine or both.
According to the complaint through the Hardin County Attorney’s Office, parents of the high school students did not consent to their children drinking alcohol.
District Judge Kimberly Shumate signed the summons August 17.
Mueller was suspended with pay August 20 from her job as assistant principal at Bluegrass Middle School, a position she has held since 2014. Hardin County School District spokesman John Wright said Wednesday the matter was under investigation.
The suspension was included in the district’s monthly personnel report posted online Tuesday.
