One of three candidates seeking the vacant judgeship in the 46th Judicial Circuit will fill the seat while awaiting the November election results.
Kenneth Harold Goff II of Leitchfield was appointed Tuesday by Governor Matt Bevin to fill the Division 2 spot for the circuit that was left vacant by the death of Judge Robert Miller from Brandenburg. That district covers Breckinridge, Grayson and Meade counties. The governor made his selection from a list of three names submitted by a judicial nominating commission appointed in the three-county area.
Goff, who previously served as a district court judge, will serve until this position is filled after the general election. He is running for the nonpartisan position along with Jessica Brown Roberts of Guston and Bradley S. Butler of Hardinsburg, who serve as the county attorney in their home counties.
The filing deadline for candidates was Tuesday.
