District Judge Kenneth Harold Goff II took the oath office Friday (2/1) to fill the appointment of Circuit Court Judge in the 46th Judical District at the Grayson County Judicial Center.
The district serves Meade, Breckinridge, and Grayson Counties. Goff was appointed by Governor Matt Bevin to the Circuit Court bench to fill the vacancy of the late Robert Miller, passed away last fall.
Judge Goff previously served as the District Judge for the 46th District, and was re-elected to that position last year. He will serve as Circuit Judge until the position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2019 General Election, according to officials. Circuit Judges serve in eight-year terms.
Circuit Court Judge Bruce Butler led the ceremony and the oath of office to Judge Goff as a room full of local and state officials and clerks along with family and other community members.
Several current and former judges took time for a group photo after the ceremony on Friday.
