The Ekron City Commission met during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (2/5) night.
Mayor Corey Trent administered the oath of office to Amanda Adams at the beginning of the meeting. Mayor Trent asked commissioners to table any action on the old Elkron Store until next month’s meeting to allow the processes around the property to continue to develop.
Commissioners discussed the improvement of lose dogs around the town in the past month. Mayor Trent attributed the improvement with more visits by Meade County Animal Control efforts within the city.
City leaders also discussed a rash of burglaries with recent weeks around the city of Enron. Some arrests have been made but several residents have experienced burglaries or attempted burglaries including city hall. Mayor Trent encourages anyone who observes criminal activity to call 911 and report it. He also said that we would increase efforts to strengthen the neighbor hood watch program in the city.
Commissioners thanked Ron Richardson for having community pride and donating a new American flag to the city park after the old flag had became tattered.
The Enron City Commission will meet during their next regular meeting on Tuesday, March 5 beginning at 6:30 pm at Enron City Hall.
