
Law enforcement across the region are searching for a suspect related to a series of car thefts and burglaries in Breckinridge County.
Police are looking for 24 year-old Anthony Grigsby after he was discovered Tuesday (2/5) night he was discovered at a Hardinsburg business after hours. A Hardinsburg Police Officer went to the business after recovering a complaint of a person around two vehicles on the lot.
When the officer attempted to check the first vehicle the occupant started the 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 pickup and fled the scene striking the officer and another vehicle on the lot. A short pursuit ensued. The officer terminated the pursuit due to excessive and dangerous speeds while traveling westbound on US 60 towards Hancock County.
The suspect was spotted a short time later, but fled in a Red F150 pickup, leading an officer on another pursuit, before crashing into a residence in Hardinsburg. The pursuit continued and traveled approximately 3 miles west of Hardinsburg before the suspect wrecked again and fled on foot.
Around 7:30 am CT Wednesday (2/6) morning, a person matching the description of Gisby was reported entering a home located West of Hardinsburg & stealing various items along with 2014 green Polaris Ranger side-by-side utility vehicle, which he drove to another residence. The suspect broke into that residence by crashing the side by side into the garage door. While inside, various items were stolen, including a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun. The suspect stole a 2006 Silver 4 door Cadillac from the garage.
That vehicle was spotted traveling East on US 60, traveling at a high rate of speed towards Hardinsburg. Officers pursued the vehicle into Meade County, where it crashed into a utility pole on Thompson Road, causing a power outage that affected about 230 Meade County RECC customers in the Garrett/Flaherty area.
Grisby fled on foot, stealing another vehicle, at gunpoint, from a Meade County resident. That vehicle was later found abandoned in near Fairdale in Jefferson County and contained the shotgun that was stolen in Breckinridge County.
Grisby remains at large. Several felony arrest warrants have been issued in Breckinridge County. Anyone with any information about Grisby’s whereabouts is encouraged to call police.
