The Breckinridge County Grand Jury has indicted Sheriff Todd Pate in connection to last month’s accident that left a woman injured.
An indictment issued this week lists 49-year-old Jerome T. Pate of McDaniels as charged with four counts of 1st degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and operating a motor vehicle under the influence- 2nd offense.
Pate was involved in an accident along Highway 259 near North Fork on March 8th in his personal vehicle that left a Leitchfield woman injured. An arrest report indicated Pate had a blood alcohol content nearly double the legal limit. The same report indicates Pate was allegedly hiding beer bottles in a wooded area near the accident scene.
Following his arrest and release from the Hardin County Detention Center, Pate checked into a rehab facility in Tennessee.
An arraignment date in Breckinridge Circuit Court was not immediately set.
