Two Elizabethtown men charged and indicted in a May 22 homicide in Radcliff made brief appearances Tuesday morning in Hardin Circuit Court and had their arraignment appearances postponed until June.
Tyler Lee Lawrence, 20, and Donyale Antoine Jones, 27, appeared before Circuit Judge Kelly Mark Easton. Both men initially will be represented by public defenders, who are attending a conference this week, leaving the men without legal counsel.
Lawrence and Jones now are scheduled to appear along with Elijah Da’shon Barnett, 22, and Temorris Mandrette Davis Jr., 21, both of Elizabethtown, at 10 a.m. June 18 in Hardin Circuit Court. Each is charged with complicity to commit murder and complicity to commit first-degree robbery in the shooting death of 25 year-old Lashard Harrison of Vine Grove.
Harrison’s body was found in a parking lot behind Pin Oak Court apartments in Radcliff. The Hardin County Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Eric Carr, who will prosecute the case, met with Harrison family members Tuesday prior to Lawrence and Jones separately entering the courtroom.
Hardin County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shane Young said the Commonwealth will seek the death penalty against all four men and would need to file aggravators in the case.
Harrison was shot multiple times, according to the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.
Lawrence also was indicted on a charge of tampering with physical evidence and Barnett was indicted for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and being a first-degree persistent felony offender.
Barnett, Morris, Jones and Lawrence are being held in lieu of $1 million cash bonds in the Hardin County Detention Center.
