Elizabethtown Community and Technical College announced a new scholarship dedicated to supporting first generation college students.
ECTC President & CEO Dr. Juston Pate said the scholarship made possible by donations from Michael and Selena Hudson will allow first generation college students the assistance. He said about thirty percent of ECTC students are the first in their family to complete a college degree. For the Hudsons, the opportunity to help students build better lives was personal. Not only did they both attend ECTC, they were also both first generation college students.
The Hudson First Generation Scholarship fund will begin taking applications in January 2020, with awards being made for the 2020-2021 academic year. Donors can contribute gifts of any amount to the fund to increase the number of scholarships awarded. Checks can be sent to ECTC at 600 College Street Road, Elizabethtown, Kentucky 42701 with Hudson First Generation Scholarship noted in the memo field. For more information or to donate to the fund, contact Megan Stith at 270-706-8721.
