An Ohio County woman was arrested Wednesday (10/09) on human trafficking charges.
Kentucky State Police arrested 34 year-old Crystal Smiley as a result of a month long human trafficking investigation.
The initial investigation started in September when social services notified Kentucky State Police Post 16 that Smiley was trying to sell her child to a family member. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Smiley was arrested Wednesday and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
She is charged with Sell or Purchase of a Child for Adoption and Promoting Human Trafficking.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Kentucky State Police.
