A Glendale man charged with 10 counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer Wednesday is being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center.
Gary Lamar Troutman, 36, will appear at 9 a.m. November 22 in Hardin District Court to face the Class D felony charges that are punishable by one to five years in prison, if convicted.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office received a request for a welfare check around 8 a.m. Wednesday at a Palmetto Loop residence in a subdivision off West Rhudes Creek Road in the Glendale.
According to Scotty Sharp, spokesman for Kentucky State Police Post 4, when authorities arrived at the home and attempted to make contact with Troutman they heard gunshots. Hardin County Sheriff John Ward said Troutman was shooting at officers.
Troutman exited the residence at about 12:30 p.m. unarmed and was taken into custody.
