Police have identified the man murdered New Year’s Eve in Radcliff and are looking for a suspect.
“My tenant called me and said someone was bleeding. He said when he knocked on his door that he would call the police, but he couldn’t help him,” Tony Griffith said.
Tony Griffith is a landlord along Illinois Road, which is where Radcliff Police said 36-year-old Matthew Dziekan died.
Police said Dziekan, stabbed and bloody, went door-to-door looking for help New Year’s Eve around 8 p.m.
When the man finally found someone to help him, he collapsed on the ground, bleeding from multiple stab wounds.
Police said they are not sure how Dziekan ended up along Illinois Road.
Officials also added that Dziekan had just moved to Radcliff, after living in Connecticut. He came back to spend more time with his mother.
Griffith said that murder is not something that happens a lot in Radcliff.
Police said on average the town has one murder a year, Police Chief Jeff Cross said he is confident that this case will get solved and so is Griffith.
