Kentucky State Police along with the Hodgenville Police Department conducted an investigation that led to a juvenile being arrested in Larue County.
On Saturday, December 3, 2022, at approximately 4:53 a.m., Kentucky State Police was contacted by the Hodgenville Police Department requesting assistance with an assault investigation near 116 East Forest Avenue in Hodgenville.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, both males, got into an alteration leading to the 17-year-old being shot. The 17-year-old was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital where he later died.
Kentucky State Police charged the 15-year-old for the victim’s death and he was lodged in the Adair County Juvenile Detention Center and further charges could be forthcoming.
The victim’s body was transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for an autopsy to be conducted at a later date. Due to both the suspect and victim being minors neither of their names will be released.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Hodgenville Police Department, Larue County Sheriff’s Office, and the Larue County EMS.
The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
