
Franklin Police have arrested a man in a hit and run investigation that started on November 25.
Kody Castleberry, 31, of Franklin, was charged with second-degree manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident-failure to render aid or assistance and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.
Police responded to a call of a man being hit by a vehicle on South Railroad Street in Franklin. The victim, James Brown, was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he later died.
Throughout the investigation, the vehicle police said Castleberry drove during the incident was seized for processing, and on December 3, Castleberry contacted the police department regarding the hit and run, and was later arrested and charged.
Castleberry is being housed in the Simpson County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond and has a court date for December 8 at 8:30 a.m.
