A two vehicle accident claimed the life of one driver early Saturday (04/22) morning in Hardin County.
According to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened near the 81 mile marker on southbound Interstate 65 around 3:30 a.m.
Investigation by the Accident Reconstruction Unit determined a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, operated by Timothy D. Minor of Louisville, was southbound on I-65 and for unknown reasons stopped in the center lane without active emergency flashers or vehicle lights on.
A 1996 Western Star semi-tractor trailer, operated by Landon B. Thompson of Carriere, MS, struck the Chevrolet Malibu.
Timothy D. Minor was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner.
The accident remains under investigation by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit.
