
The Jefferson County coroner’s office has released the name of a 20-year-old man who died after a double shooting in Louisville’s southside neighborhood early Thursday.
According to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, it happened around 1:45 a.m. That’s when officers from LMPD’s Fourth Division responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Douglas Park. Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds at the scene.
One victim, now identified as 20-year-old Eric Tuyishene, died at the scene.
The second man was taken to University Hospital, but police said his injuries do not appear life-threatening.
LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating, and currently there are no suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call LMPD’s tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673). Tips can also be sent online through the Crime Tip Portal. You can remain anonymous.
