A man is dead after a concrete mixer truck hit the truss of an overhead highway sign on 31W Bypass in Elizabethtown, between the Western Kentucky Parkway interchange and US 62, early Friday morning.
According to Elizabethtown Police Officer Chris Denham, the driver of the truck lost control in the northbound lanes of the US 31 W Bypass just before 8 a.m. The vehicle hit the concrete support pillar for the sign, which caused it to fall into the roadway, blocking all lanes.
All lanes were blocked for several hours for the investigation, but all lanes were reopened by mid-afternoon.
Police said the driver of the truck owned by SRM Concrete, 26-year-old Dillon Pulaski, died at the scene. He was the only person in the vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation by the Elizabethtown Police Department.
