Police in Bullitt County are conducting a homicide investigation after a woman’s body was found along the side of a highway early Thursday evening.
Bullitt County Sheriff Walt Sholar said in a written statement that a bicyclist found the body in a shallow ditch in the southbound lane of Highway 1020 around 5:15 p.m. on November 9 and flagged down a passing driver to call 911.
When officers arrived, they found a white female, deceased and her identity is unknown at this time. Sholar said the woman was face down in a shallow ditch when found, but officers turned her over and immediately knew foul play was involved.
The body was taken to the Kentucky State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
