A woman died after she was hit by a vehicle on the Gene Snyder Saturday evening.
Dwight Mitchell, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said a call for a crash involving a pedestrian on Interstate 265 southbound at mile marker 22 came in around 7 p.m., which is just past the Taylorsville Road exit.
Police said a car was traveling south on I-265 and hit a woman who was in the roadway. She was pronounced deceased on the scene.
According to Mitchell, officers were receiving calls about pedestrians in the road prior to the crash.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating. All involved parties remained on scene and no one else was injured.
