A man wanted in connection with the death of a woman in Okolona earlier this month has turned himself in to Louisville police.
In a release, Louisville Metro Police said 38 year-old Rashawn Betts is being charged with murder (domestic violence) burglary, assault and wanton endangerment.
The Homicide Unit had been looking for Betts after 44 year-old Amy Skelton was found November 8 with multiple blunt force trauma at a home on Greenbridge Way in Okolona. She later died at the hospital.
According to court documents, Betts went to Skelton’s home and reportedly fired multiple rounds through the locked door to get inside. Once inside, police said that Betts hit Skelton in the face with the handgun he used to get into the home.
Investigators said Betts then went to the kitchen, grabbed two large kitchen knives and stabbed Skelton multiple times.
Police had asked for the public’s help in finding Betts, who was wanted for her murder and should be considered armed and dangerous.
