A three vehicle accident claimed the life of one person around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Barren County.
A preliminary investigation indicates that 20 year-old Rylee Gibbons, of Glasgow, was operating a silver Hyundai Elantra south bound on North Jackson Highway. Gibbons crossed the centerline colliding with a north bound blue Nissan Rogue, that was operated by 58 year-old Jennifer Hishmeh, of Glasgow.
Following the initial collision, 32 year-old Mania Johnson, of Glasgow, was operating a red Jeep Cherokee that was also north bound on North Jackson Highway and collided with the Nissan Rogue.
Alveda Jessie, 80 of Cave City, was the passenger of the Nissan Rogue and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office. The others involved were transported to T.J. Sampson Hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Glasgow Police Department, Barren-Metcalf EMS and the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
