Kentucky State Police Post 4 investigated an officer-involved shooting that occurred on February 3 at approximately 8:30 p.m. EST in Nelson County.
At the request of the Bardstown Police Department, Kentucky State Police Troopers and Detectives responded to the Taco Bell restaurant located at the intersection of KY 245 and Frost Avenue in Bardstown.
No officers or other members of the community were injured during the incident. The suspect, 47 year-old Bryan Smith, was arrested and charged by the Bardstown Police Department for a previous outstanding warrant in addition to new charges including disorderly conduct, menacing, wanton endangerment, and resisting arrest. He was lodged by in the Nelson County Correctional Center.
