
A Scottsville man was charged February 1 after a pursuit on Smiths Grove Road.
Bill Cook, 45, was charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and receiving stolen property.
Allen County Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Smiths Grove Road near the New Glasgow Road intersection at 12:25 p.m.
The suspect, later identified as Cook, fled north on Smiths Grove Road.
During the pursuit, Cook made attempts to hit the cruisers with his vehicle and eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Port Oliver Circle and Meador Port Oliver Road when he fled from the vehicle and entered a nearby structure.
Cook was taken into custody without incident.
Police discovered that Cook was a suspect in multiple theft cases from surrounding counties as well.
On February 2, police searched a property where Cook lived and found multiple stolen firearms.
