
Member of Meade County Fiscal Court worked through a lengthy agenda Tuesday (2/13) night.
During the consent agenda, magistrates approved the resignation of a truck driver at the road department. They also approved the hiring of Valeria David as the Road Department Secretary; Michael Duvall as truck driver for the Road Department; Joseph McIntosh as a laborer at the Road Department and Zachary Butler as the Otter Creek Campground Manager. The Court approved the appointments of Michael Long to the Meade County Fire District and Jalen Hardcastle to the Board of Adjustments Appeals. The court approved a pay scale adjustment and job descriptions for the County’s E911 Center. The pay scale adjustment would add an addition cost of $46,000 annually.
In other business, Judge Executive Troy Kok along with IT Director Joe Mangin recognized Joshua Mattingly for his hard work and dedication in the courthouse Internet Technology department. Judge Kok along with Tammy Graham recognized Vicki Spink for her efforts to review and question re-occurring bill payments and have corrected enough to save the county $10,000 in excess payments. Mattingly and Spink received a coin from Judge Kok and Fiscal Court.
Fiscal Court members approved a resolution accepting $256,781 in Kentucky Transportation Cabinet FLEX Funds to be used on county roads. They also approved a resolution related to the Consumer Price Index for Magistrates pay. County Road Supervisor Jeff Padgett provided the court with a estimate in the amount of $11,035 for repairs on Lawson Woods Road.
Meade County Attorney Sydney Durham presented the first readings of the Code Enforcement and Animal Shelter Ordinances. She said that the fee schedules were removed in order to allow for any fee adjustments to updated by resolution as needed by the Fiscal Court. Magistrates approved the readings They also heard and approved the first reading of the Heavy Industrial Ordinance presented by the County Planning and Zoning Attorney Nick Pregliasco.
The court met in a closed session to discuss proposed or pending litigation against or behalf of a public agency. After approximately 20 minutes, the court returned to voting to provide the City of Brandenburg with $3,999 for a change order.
