
Kentucky State Police are investigating an incident after a man walked into the Breckinridge County Judicial Center around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday (2/20) and sprayed staff with an unknown substance.
According to authorities, the man sprayed a sheriff deputy and fled the building into an alley, where he was detained by police, who he also sprayed with the substance during a brief foot pursuit. The man was detained and taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS for evaluation. He was arrested after being medically cleared by the hospital.
Three officers were taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.
The Fort Knox Hazmat Team was requested to test the substance which was determined to be a hot sauce mixture.
Main Street and some surrounding areas were closed most of the day along with the Breckinridge County Judicial Center until the substance was determined.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
