A Big Clifty man accused of threatening people with a gun on a Grayson County roadway was arrested on Monday, according to police.
Grayson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man standing on Morrison Road in Big Clifty threatening people with a gun. The 50-year-old man, William J. Litteral, walked away from police when they turned on their lights.
Police said Litteral pulled his gun from its holster and held it to his side after police turned on the siren. He was told to drop the weapon, but kept walking away from police.
Police said after a few minutes, Litteral put the gun about one to two feet away from his reach. But he didn’t move away from the gun despite police asking him to.
Litterall was tasered and then handcuffed.
Litterall was charged with menacing, disorderly conducted, fleeing or evading police and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
