A man is dead after a fatal crash on Interstate 64 East near Echo Trail Road on early Thursday morning.
According to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell, officers responded to a call of a vehicle collision around 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 64 East at mile marker 21.
Upon investigation, officials said the man struck the back of a stopped semi-truck. The truck was sitting in the right shoulder of the roadway.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Mitchell.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
