
Louisville Mero Police homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found shot to death in downtown Louisville Saturday morning.
It happened around 7 a.m. in the 500 block of South Fourth Street, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. That was where officers from the First Division, responding to reports of a shooting, found a man with a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.
A short time later, police said a woman showed up at UofL Hospital with what appeared to be a non life-threatening gunshot wound. She was listed in stable condition.
Investigators determined she was a second victim from the fatal shooting on South Fourth Street.
Louisville Metro Police homicide detectives are searching for suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 502-574-LMPD (5673). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the department’s crime tip portal.
The double shooting was the second fatal shooting reported Saturday morning. A woman was killed and a man was critically injured in another shooting at about the same time in the 3300 block of Noe Way.
