A Mt. Washington man is facing 15 years behind bars after his 1-year-old daughter died from a fentanyl overdose.
Christopher Vanmeter pleaded guilty to reckless homicide Tuesday morning in a Bullitt County courtroom.
His daughter, Kamrynn, died of fentanyl poisoning back in April of last year. Mt Washington First Responders arrived to a home on Beachwood Lane to find Vanmeter, his daughter and several others inside. The child was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
A toxicology report found her death was caused by fentanyl poisoning. Detectives believe Kamrynn ingested drugs found in her home.
Under the plea, Vanmeter will get a 15-year sentence.
