A Madisonville woman who shot and killed her husband in 2021 has pled guilty to 1st Degree Manslaughter.
Circuit Court Clerk Tonya Bowman said Ravan Hamlett will serve 15 years in prison as part of the plea deal.
Court records show Hamlett killed 61-year-old Benigno Feliciano at a home on Harrig Street.
After her arrest, police say Hamlett claimed voices in her head told her to do it.
Madisonville Police Major Jason McKnight said they were just talking, and, at that time, Ms. Hamlett advised she had a voice in her head that told her she needed to shoot him.
McKnight said there was no history of domestic abuse between the two. Hamlett’s official sentencing is set for May 6, 2024.
