A tip from a DARE officer led the Jeffersontown Police Department to seize THC products, cash and a stolen gun from three people accused of selling it all to middle school students.
The community resource officer tipped off Jeffersontown officers that someone was selling drugs to the students. Detectives executed a search warrant and seized a significant quantity of THC products, a stolen handgun, cash, numerous credit cards, psychedelic chocolate bars and gummies, some of which had packaging with Pokémon characters on them.
Jeffersontown Sgt. Richard Burns said what they found was specifically marketed to kids. The transactions were taking place on social media. He advised parents to check their children’s phones and social media for any unusual messages.
Burns credited the resource officer for looking out for the students and keeping them safe.
Devon Hemingway, Kaleb Lee, Puja Katwal were all arrested Thursday, according to police. They are all facing several charges.
