A man who police say shot and killed a 19-year-old in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood back in 2022 has been sentenced to prison time.
David Surface was 18 at the time of the shooting on Brooklawn Drive. His father told police Surface had gotten into a fight with the victim, Diante Story, and that led to the deadly shooting.
He was originally charged with murder, but Monday, Surface was able to get that charge reduced to first-degree manslaughter, arguing insanity.
Surface was sentenced to 19 years in prison with no probation.
