
The man charged with murdering a Scott County, Kentucky, deputy in May 2023 has pleaded guilty in another case.
Steven Sheangshang pled guilty Monday to burglary and persistent felony offender charges in Kenton County in northern Kentucky. The Commonwealth’s Attorney did not make any plea deals with Sheangshang, recommending the maximum 20 years in prison.
His final sentencing is set for June 10.
Sheangshang is charged with the murder of Scott County, Kentucky, deputy Caleb Conley in May 2023. Police said after Sheangshang was arrested for the deputy’s murder and as his mugshot circulated, Sheangshang was identified on security video as the man who broke into the Kenton County home.
Sheangshang is still waiting to go to trial for charges in Scott, Bourbon and Fayette counties.
