A passenger was killed just before 8 p.m. Friday in a single-vehicle crash on Springfield Road in Elizabethtown when a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu struck a tree.
Justin A. Lyons, the driver, lost control of the car while westbound in the 3000 block of Springfield Road, according to information from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. The report said the vehicle went off the left side of road before striking the tree.
The deceased was a passenger in the front seat, according to authorities. Lyons and a passenger in the rear seat were taken to Baptist Health Hardin for what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
The initial statement from the sheriff’s office made no mention of charges.
