Attempted traffic stop ended with one person facing multiple charges after pursuit in Warren County Thursday.
Kentucky State Police initiated a traffic stop on Morgantown Road in Bowling Green on a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban for multiple traffic offenses.
The operator, identified as 36 year-old Tyler Young of Bowling Green, failed to yield to emergency equipment and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect eventually travelled onto Westmeade Drive, where he exited the vehicle, and fled on foot. The suspect then threw a gun, and what is believed to be methamphetamine from his person onto the ground. After a brief foot pursuit, Young was taken into custody and lodged in the Warren County Detention Center.
He is charged with; Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (On Foot), Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon, Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence (Aggravated), along with numerous other traffic violations. An active parole warrant was also served on Young.
He is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail under a $6,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 1.
