A driver was taken to the hospital on Friday after they crashed into a semi-tractor trailer in the Smoketown neighborhood.
Louisville police said the crash happened around 12:35 p.m. at the intersection of South Floyd Street and Breckinridge Street.
The driver of the passenger vehicle headed west on Breckinridge Street when police said they failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a semi that was headed north on Floyd Street.
Police said the crash caused the semi to lose control and crashed into Christ Way Missionary Baptist Church. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.
After being taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, officials said the driver of the car should survive their injuries.
