A Warren County grand jury has indicted a man after he allegedly robbed and set fire to a Wendy’s restaurant on 31-W Bypass in Bowling Green.
Michael A. Sheehan, 40, was indicted on second-degree arson, third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking, first-degree criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
Bowling Green Police responded to the store on February 21, finding a fire at the restaurant in the early morning hours. Police later said Sheehan entered the store and took $2,000 in cash.
Sheehan removed the DVR box that had surveillance footage on it, according to police.
The fire reportedly caused more than $1 million in damages to the restaurant.
Sheehan also threatened to kill his girlfriend if she told police what he did.
Sheehan remains jailed in Warren County on a $50,000 cash bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on May 6 at 9 a.m.
