A warning about the newest text message phishing scam that thousands of people have been receiving, claiming unpaid tolls from Florida’s Sun Pass toll system.
A man received this text message and the timing was perfect. He had just been visiting Florida for spring break.
The text said it was from Ohio Toll Services and claimed an outstanding toll amount of $11.69.
The real Sun Pass authority said it is a scam and once you click through, it will ask for a credit card to pay the bill.
The scam has ran through Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York.
Florida’s Sun Pass is warning drivers to watch for this scam and says they will not text you about unpaid tolls.
