
The Kentucky State Police Post 3 has requested the Critical Incident Response Team to investigate a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday, April 30 on Nashville Road near the intersection of Fortuna Avenue in Bowling Green.
The preliminary investigation indicates that 48 year-old Trooper Jonathan Johnson, of Bowling Green, while off-duty was operating a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle traveling south on Nashville Road. Zeljka Meskovic, age 53 of Bowling Green, was operating a 2008 Toyota Camry that was traveling north on Nashville Road in the center turning lane. Meskovic made a left turn into the travel path of Trooper Johnson, who was unable to stop or avoid the collision. His motorcycle collided with the Camry, and he sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Trooper Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner. The investigation remains ongoing by the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team.
