
Kentucky State Police is investigating two related deadly shootings that occurred Friday evening in Russell County.
Post 15 received a call around 7 p.m. from Pulaski County 911 requesting assistance locating a Ford F-150, believed to be operated by 56-year-old Angela Gosser of Russell Springs. Troopers responded and attempted to locate the vehicle. Later around 7:24 p.m., Russell County requested assistance with a deadly shooting that occurred at a residence on South KY 619 in Russell County.
According to a preliminary investigation, Gosser forced entry into her brother’s residence on South KY 619. They said there was an apparent exchange of gunfire between her and her brother, 58-year-old Darryl Wilson of Jamestown. Both individuals sustained gunshot wounds.
Wilson was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Gosser’s injuries were fatal, and the Russell County Coroner pronounced her dead.
While on scene at the residence, Kentucky State Police also received a request for assistance for a welfare check for Gosser’s sister. Family members of her sister, 57-year-old Jennifer Wilson of Russell Springs, had not been able to make contact with her, causing them to become concerned for her safety.
Kentucky State Police and Russell County sheriffs arrived to the scene on Hammond Road in Russell County, where they found Wilson’s car partially off the roadway. They found Wilson in the driver’s seat. She had fatal gunshot wounds to her head, and the Russell County Coroner pronounced her dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation found that before the shooting at the residence, Gosser fired multiple rounds into the passenger area of her sister’s vehicle, fatally shooting Wilson.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, Russell County EMS and the Russell County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
